Ioannina

In the northern Greek city of Ioannina, we caught a ferry to a small island in the middle of Lake Pamvotis. The island is home to about 90 families, along with an Ottoman Mosque built by renegade Ottoman governor Ali Pasha, who was beheaded in the 19th century for trying to create an independent state with Ioannina as its capital.
