Swayumbunath is also commonly referred to as the Monkey Temple. A colony of dozens of rhesus monkeys live around Swayumbunath's hilltop. As you can see in this picture, people tend to be much more interested in the monkeys than the other way around. Yet while this monkey looks friendly and playful, Susanne is being wise by maintaining a safe distance - they've got a reputation for attacking tourists.
