One of the most successful trends in educational computing is that of state or locally-run information networks which offer local school teachers and administrators low-cost or free access to the Internet and educational services. These networks supply teachers with personal email accounts, allowing them access to a full suite of Internet services. Some of the states and districts that currently offer educator network access include Arkansas (Arkansas Public School Computer Network) Florida (FIRN), Georgia (GC EduNET), Indiana (IDEAnet), Minnesota (InforMNs), New York (NYSERNet), Ohio (Starknet and OECN) and Texas (TENET), among many others.
