Educational Gateways

A GATEWAY is simply a connection point to the Internet. Educational gateways offer low-cost network connectivity for students and educators alike. In a sense, almost any network node can be considered a gateway due to the transparent nature of network protocols.

The Knowledge Network Gateway (KNG). Pacific Bell/CSU's K-14 classroom gateway to the Internet, offering a full suite of Internet capabilities. Memberships are not required, though there is a charge for Internet address. Uses: Information service/gateway. A travel bureau for students for research on the net. Contact: TBD.
