A view of the Taj from Shah Jehan's prison

This picture of the Taj Mahal and the Jamuna River was taken from the Octagonal Tower of the Agra Fort. Shah Jehan was imprisoned in the tower by his son, Aurangzeb, following a successful coup. Shah Jehan remained here for over 10 years, never allowed again to step foot in the white marble mausoleum he had built for his wife. The view would have to suffice.
