Funeral at Pashupatinath Ghat

Pashupatinath, just a handful of kilometers east of Kathmandu, is Nepal's answer to Varanasi - the holiest of riverbanks. Thousands of people each year are cremated along its ghats, the steps that lead down into the Bagmati river. Non-hindus are not allowed in the main temple or on its principal ghat, so Susanne and I climbed to the opposite bank to get some pictures. Unfortunately, it was only as I snapped this particular picture that I realized what I was doing - focusing on a funeral scene. I quickly put my camera away after that.
