Fatehpur Sikri is an immense palace city outside of Agra in northern India. It was built by the great Moghul emperor Akbar in the mid-17th century, but he only used it for about 15 years. Akbar was forced to abandon it because the palace had no sustainable source of fresh water. It's perhaps the most well preserved abandoned city in all of India. In this picture, Susanne is sitting on the bottom right side of one of the palace's regal courtyards, Jodi Bai's Palace. It was home to the imperial harem.
